Yesterday, I felt blessed to sit in the presence of these two young visionaries, as they gave back to the community by sharing of their journey and encouraging other aspiring entrepreneurs in the conference room at New York University. Upon walking into the room, Coco greets me, "Hi, I'm Coco..." we did the customary greeting exchange and behold, my first impression of them hit: '..hmm, she (Coco) must be the outspoken one of the two.' Wrong! Breezy later affirmed that Coco typically appeals more reserved and would have quick conversations with people (overlooking chances for branding purposes at times) while she (Breezy) would rather take those chances to further conversations along. So there I sat listening; how presumptuous to think I had their personality differences all figured out because one spoke to me first, silly me ..tehee! Twinship intrigues me so figuring out their differences came as fun. They noticeably shared one thing in common last night; they vibrated together while sharing with such charismatic vibes. As they spoke, the room filled up with positive energy and optimism in the air. After graduating high-schoolby the age of 17, they gathered up their little savings, packed up their belongings, sold some for some cash and decided to move to New York City, one of the best training grounds for any aspiring entrepreneur. They took that chance to possibly realize their burning desire to do something big with their eye-wear designs. That phenomenal move occurred back in 2009, at the age of 19. Not long since then, celebrities such as Rhianna, Beyoncé, Lady Gaga, Nicki Minaj, Kelly Osbourne, Ciara, Selita Ebanks, Theophilus London, Serena Williams and much more have donned their fabulous eyewear. Last night, as humble spirited and exuberant as ever, they shared with us of their journey thus far, how they overcame hurdles along the way and what keeps them moving forward today.
From their own personal grind, they've graced the pages of so many incredible magazines, met and built relationships with people they never imagined to do so with and continue to learn and grow ever so willingly about their business affairs. I loved listening to their sharing and related so well with their can do - will do spirit about taking risks and other moves they've made. What appealed even more in all that? The way they spoke so openly, filled with life and joy, while completing each other's sentences or speaking in unison (numerous times) and how they cared enough to continually stop to ask questions of the audience as they thoroughly answered each one.
